Speaking
Speaking Preparation
The Speaking test assesses your ability to communicate in English. It consists of three parts: an interview, an individual long turn, and a two-way discussion.
The examiner asks general questions about your life, hobbies, and familiar topics.
The Cornerstone Strategy:
Do not give short, robotic answers.
We train you to establish an immediate baseline of natural fluency, pacing, and confidence from your very first sentence to set the tone for the entire interview.
You receive a cue card topic with 1 minute to prepare a 1-to-2 minute talk.
The Cornerstone Strategy:
This is where most scores collapse due to panic or running out of ideas.
We give you a mental structuring matrix that allows you to organize your thoughts instantly, ensuring you can speak fluently without repetition.
This is a discussion with the examiner about more abstract aspects of the Part 2 topic, lasting 4-5 minutes.
The Cornerstone Strategy:
This is the divider between a Band 6.5 and a Band 8.0.
We teach you how to construct high-level, academic arguments on the spot, using complex grammatical structures and precise discourse markers.
