IELTS Speaking Support: Empowering Global Success

Speaking

Speaking Preparation

The Speaking test assesses your ability to communicate in English. It consists of three parts: an interview, an individual long turn, and a two-way discussion.

The examiner asks general questions about your life, hobbies, and familiar topics.

The Cornerstone Strategy:

Do not give short, robotic answers.

We train you to establish an immediate baseline of natural fluency, pacing, and confidence from your very first sentence to set the tone for the entire interview.

You receive a cue card topic with 1 minute to prepare a 1-to-2 minute talk.

The Cornerstone Strategy:

This is where most scores collapse due to panic or running out of ideas.

We give you a mental structuring matrix that allows you to organize your thoughts instantly, ensuring you can speak fluently without repetition.

This is a discussion with the examiner about more abstract aspects of the Part 2 topic, lasting 4-5 minutes.

The Cornerstone Strategy:

This is the divider between a Band 6.5 and a Band 8.0.

We teach you how to construct high-level, academic arguments on the spot, using complex grammatical structures and precise discourse markers.

Fluency & Coherence

This measures how well, how smoothly, and how clearly you can speak without unnatural pauses or hesitation.

Fluency is about your speaking speed and flow.

Coherence is about how logically your ideas connect.

Lexical Resource

A fancy word for vocabulary.

You are judged on your range of words, the natural use of collocations, and spelling accuracy.

The more varied and academic your language is, the better you will score.

Grammatical Accuracy

This looks at both the variety of structural patterns you use and how correct they are.

Don't just use simple sentence structures. You need to naturally mix simple, compound, and complex sentences, as well as use a variety of structures (like conditionals or passive voice).

Pronunciation

Not just about your accent!

It is how you pronounce words correctly, but also about your sentence stress, your intonation and the clarity of your voice.

This is why sounding happy and smiling will help you by at least 0.5 band score!

Scoring
Each is equally worth 25% and given a whole band score.
